Despite its remote location in western Germany, close to the borders with Luxembourg and Belgium, Gerolstein is easy to reach. Whether by car, public transport or even by bike, there are many ways to get there.

From the north – Cologne
Due to the severe flood damage in summer 2021 on the Eifel line, train services are unfortunately still restricted for the foreseeable future. Trains from the direction of Cologne will run as far as Kall. From Kall, an express bus will then continue to Gerolstein. The bus stop (ZOB) is conveniently located right next to the Stadthalle Rondell in Gerolstein, i.e. exactly where the WordCamp will take place.
Express bus Gerolstein – Kall:
- In Kall, connection to the trains in the direction of Cologne, as well as to the rail replacement service in the direction of Nettersheim.
- Stops only in Oberbettingen, Lissendorf, Jünkerath, Dahlem (Eifel) and Blankenheim Wald

The nearest airport to Gerolstein is Hahn (HHN) Airport, 53.1 km away. However, this airport does not have good public transport connections. It would be advisable to rent a car here.
